John Sweeney
Director, Tenzing Consulting

John Sweeney, Director of Tenzing Consulting, has deep experience in management consulting, process improvement and operations in the healthcare, engineering, agriculture and financial services. Mr. Sweeney has led several strategic initiatives for the CEO, COO, and senior officers of Blue Shield of California related to the launch of the Active Choice Plans and process improvements around management of their strategic portfolio. He has also recently advised Kaiser Permanente executives on strategic and operational matters. In addition, he has done investment analysis and due diligence for vTraction and Rabobank.

Prior to his consulting work, Mr. Sweeney was a Vice President at Rabobank's captive venture fund, vTraction, where he was responsible for several portfolio companies generating investment leads and managing investment analysis in food and agricultural related exchanges and infrastructure companies.

Previously, Mr. Sweeney was a Manager with Deloitte Consulting from 1996 to 2000, provided decision support analysis for Amgen in 1995, and was responsible for fleet management purchasing and led several pipeline construction projects for Pacific Gas & Electric Company from 1991 to 1994.

Mr. Sweeney received his MBA from Wharton and a BS in Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a Professional Registered Engineer in California. He is currently a Board Member of the Alumni Association for California Polytechnic State University and is a former Member of the Board of Trustees for the California State University System.
