Dr. Dennis Murphy
Senior Advisor, Focus, LLC

Dennis Murphy holds A.B. and M.D. degrees from Georgetown University. An internship, residency in Internal Medicine, and fellowship in Endocrinology and Nuclear Medicine followed at the University of California in San Francisco. He practiced medicine and endocrinology in association with Evanston Northwestern Healthcare in Evanston, IL, for 34 years and currently serves as a consultant in medicine. He was a Founding Member and currently serves as Chair of its Ethics Education Committee and Chair of its Institutional Ethics Committee.

Mr. Murphy also serves on the Corporate Compliance Committee of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. Additionally, he has served as President of the Professional Staff and Chair of the Executive Committee, as well as having been a Board Member, at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare.

He has served as a Consultant in Endocrinology to Northwestern University Health Service and continues to hold a clinical associate professorial appointment at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, recently teaching problem-based learning. He has also chaired Northwestern’s medical resident evaluation committee.

Mr. Murphy has provided extensive professional community service and has lectured and published broadly on his area of medical expertise. He is a founding medical advisor, a board member and past board president of the Hospice and Palliative CareCenter of the Midwest. His research interests and publications have included gut and liver glucose related enzyme activity in animals treated with oral antibiotic agents, thyroid disease following irradiation and cytokine expression in thyroid disorders. He has served as consultant to the AMA Guide to Prescription and Over the Counter Drugs.
