Briefing on the topic of: Accelerating Innovation: The Role of Technology
Transfer on November 5-7, 2006 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in Cambridge,
Massachusetts. Over 140 business leaders and licensing executives, representing
over 70 Fortune 500 or Fortune 1000 companies from Asia, Europe and North America,
attended this year’s Briefing.
“Representatives from some of the most active technology licensing companies
in the world were here discussing how and what they license or are interested

conference, the attendees gained insight on best practices from business leaders
who have demonstrated Open Innovation success. The briefing focused on process
insights from those who are doing it well, and practitioners and decision-makers
delivering specific suggestions to make technology acquisition and/or technology
licensing efforts successful.
This years Keynote Speakers were Mr. Henry M.
Chesbrough, Executive Director, Center for Open Innovation, Haas School of
Business, University of California Berkeley; John Sculley, Former CEO, Pepsi-Cola
and Apple Computer; Esther Dyson, Editor-at-Large, CNET Networks; Dr. Dave
N. Edwards, Chief Technology Officer, Avery Dennison; Cheryl Perkins, Chief
Information Officer, Kimberly-Clark; and Dr. R.W. van Leen, MBA, Chief Information
Officer, DSM Innovation Center.
For the second consecutive year, yet2.com devoted
a full morning to 15-minute overview presentations, which were made by promising
companies that are working on cutting-edge technologies, and presentations
by serious technology-seekers. The technology sessions were focused on
four specific high-interest technology areas: Medical Devices and Diagnostics;
Coatings and Adhesives; Electronics and Information Technology; and Consumer
Products Technology.
